A Christian School
Windswept Academy is a private, non-denominational Christian school, dedicated to providing students from the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation with a Christ-centered, quality, academic education in a Biblically directed learning environment. In addition to our challenging academic program, our curriculum also includes the history of music, art and a rigorous physical education program. On August 25, 2011, we began our third year with 29 students ranging from Kindergarten to Eighth grade. Our mission is to prepare students for leadership and Christian service in their community and the world.
OUR HISTORY:
Windswept Academy began its first school year on August 27, 2009, with 12 students in grades Kindergarten through Second, at the home of the First Baptist Church of Eagle Butte, South Dakota. Our second year began in August 2010 with 19 children enrolled in Kindergarten through Sixth grade. Due to our rapid expansion, Windswept Academy outgrew our first home at the First Baptist Church. On November 15, 2010, we relocated to our new building located at 332 Cedar Street in Eagle Butte. Our new facility is capable of handling growth for the next several years and will help us be of greater service to our students and the community.
OUR FUTURE:
Windswept Academy is preparing to build a permanent facility that will support Kindergarten through Twelfth grade, plus a variety of other outreach functions, including adult education. This permanent facility will be located on our twenty-five acres of rolling prairie located four miles west of the town of Eagle Butte.
